About the zine

The Ominous Star: a junlian zine is a fan project p4p made out love for the ship Jun Wu x Xie Lian.
Contributors will create contents like arts, fics, cosplay photos, etc as a collection of work in a book!
The main physical zine will be SFW, and there will be additional NSFW digital bundle (optional for contributors).

This fanzine will not be spoiler-free. Due to the nature of the relationship between Jun Wu and Xie Lian, spoilers are inevitable.

Although the zine is SFW, it may inevitably include blood / violence / stabbing to the extent of canon events due to the nature of this ship. Please see the FAQ for more detailed NSFW/SFW instructions.

About Junlian

JunLian is the name of the ship of Jun Wu and Xie Lian in Heaven Official's blessing (Tian Guan Ci Fu).All "appearances" of the characters could appear in this project, therefore, any declination of the ship is also open.
Jun Wu: Jun Wu, Crown Prince of Wuyong, The White-Clothed Calamity (Bai Wuxiang),
Xie Lian: The Crown Prince of Xianle, the scrap god collector (third ascension), the God of Misfortune (second ascension), The Flower Crown Martial God (first ascension), Fang Xin Guoshi, etc.

SCHEDULE

THEME AND ZINES

First ascension: The first ascension era included Xie Lian before his ascension (when he was the Crown Prince of Xianle, as a human). It also included all of the first ascension time when ge ascended to the Heave for the first time
Second ascension: The second ascension included the event happening after his banishment. It includes the event of the Book 4 (The White-Clothed Calamity). It also includes the time when Xie Lian is in exile, alone.
Third Ascension: This is essentially where most of the event of the book occurs. From his ascension in the first volume to Jun Wu's defeat.
Mount Tonglu: This part includes both of the post-canon era, where Jun Wu is sealed under the mountain, and the era of the Wuyong Crown Prince.

There will be AUs / Canon-divergence / anything that isn’t Canon-specific! The chapters are purely for organizing the contents in similar setting/mood.

FAQ

CONTENT CREATION

How many entries can each contributor make?

It depends on how many contributors we have. If we have room, you can make up to 2 pieces for each SFW main zine and NSFW zine. 2 page limit for each entry for artists, 3 page limit for writers.

Is AI allowed?

Absolutely not. If we find that you're using AI to create your piece in this zine, you will be removed from the project instantely.

Is NSFW allowed in the zine?

In the main zine, NSFW creations are not allowed. However, alongside the SFW physical zine, a NSFW digital zine will be made. To contribute to NSFW zine, you need to be an adult (18+) and sign-up for at least one SFW entry in the main zine.

What’s the standard of SFW / NSFW?

NSFW
What’s allowed: Nudity / extreme gore / sexual activity (genitalia related) / vulgar language
What’s not allowed in this zine: minor (under 18)/adult relationshipSFW
What’s allowed: everything else, canon level of violence (blood / violence / stabbing)

Does the zine have a theme?

As long as it’s Junlian/Bailian, anything is good! We do have four chapters to organize the contents in order. Once you’re invited, you will be given a separate form to choose the chapters to your liking.

APPLICATION AND INVITE

How does the application process work?

It is first-come first-serve, if the applicant number exceed the limit, so the earlier you submit your response the better chance! Our goal is to accept everyone! However, due to the reality of production cost, we may not be able to accept everyone to SFW main zine. Once you are accepted, we will reach out to you via EMAIL.

What happens if I don’t make it in the contributor limit?

If we hit the contributor limit for our physical main zine, we will reach out to you.

How will you communicate with contributors?

We have a Discord server for the contributors where all information will be given with real time communication with the mods. To sign-up, you need a discord account.

FOR CURRENT CONTRIBUTORS

Will the contributors get a free physical zine?

It is our ideal goal to provide all participants with a free copy of the physical zine, but due to the unpredictability of the sales, we may not reach this goal. Physical merch & shipping will have to be purchased separately.
But we can guarantee that all participants will get a free copy of the digital zine and digital merch.

Will there be merch?

It depends on how many buyer interest we have. But we are planning on making ; postcards, stickers, bookmark.

Can I post the work that I’m creating for the zine on my social media?

You may not post the entirety of it. You can crop it to minimal sections, or ask our mods before you make a post. However, you can post the whole work after 7 months from the pre-order date.
